5. The bill allows for reporting on possible abortions to 2017

So Texas Right to Lie can sue - in civil court - the hospital, the clinic, the doctor, the nurse or driver for any number of abortion procedures performed after September 1, 2017.

Along with any other private citizen not directly associated with the woman who got the procedure can have a field day suing any number of "rich women's doctors" to get an easy $10k payday before some court finally put a stop to it.

Sort of like suing for moral malpractice as the GOP defines it, specifically targeted to keep a "biblically justified male control over women's fertility".

It all depends on the judge, and since it's civil court, pretty easy to go judge shopping for a quick, favorable judgement.

SB6 is blatantly unconstitutional, but since the majority in SCOTUS chose not to hear the case until later in the next session, there's a good number of cases that could be brought against medical personnel and be adjudicated against them.
