Also, the article talked about Manchin's income from non-public shares in Enersystems , not the company's operating income or profit. That might still be inaccurate, but the two are not exactly equivalent. It's not clear if that income was a deferred payout having accumulated value over time or was directly tied to income in a single calendar year, which seems unlikely, at least recently.

What are some of the other falsehoods?
