I think we're all sort of shell shocked at the level of discourse in the country today. I'm having a really hard time with the people I know who still identify as republicans. I just don't see how kind & decent people can vote for republicans. This includes some people I care for. WTF? How do they not see the depravity of the current republican party's policies?

Is there anyway you can day or two, just for yourself? Do the little things that please you, or do nothing at all, but make some time just for you. My sympathies on the death of your mother.
