Why the disconnect on ack that these craft exist, and that the technologies that allow these craft to perform as they do?

We're still discovering the existence of subatomic particles (and a whole class of them too, that we just discovered), so our Physics is touching just the edges of what is out there, Physics-wise. We've only just discovered radio waves, and the electronic media over the last 200 +- years or so ago, and we're still learning day-by-day about all sorts of the physical world about us.

And by the way, $22 Million Dollars spent on analyzing this technology is a but a tiny, tiny portion of I suspect has been spent on the analysis of this technology (and / or the reverse engineering of it too, incorporating the technologies gained into existing technical platforms we already have). I suspect that the amounts spent are in the billions of dollars, not millions.
