3. Ugh. I hate to hear anyone say that....

Usually it's some old Karen who can't get her French fries in the drive-through fast enough.

The contempt that has been heaped on fast-food workers disgusts me anyway. Sometimes I try to reply to these people. I know it's useless, but still I am compelled to do it! Some of the points I try to make:

People ARE working - they just don't want to work shitty jobs where they are on their feet all day, or have to work a split-shift, or they have no set schedule, or they don't want to put up with rude assholes all day long.

Many college students are now doing things like driving for Uber or delivering for InstaCart or DoorDash or UberEats. Those are jobs where they can set their own schedules or only work a few days/nights a week.

Many people found out during the pandemic that they could work remotely, and they are still doing it.
