The seance-based opinions (that always seem to align with the mediums') are a little out of hand.

Especially from a woman who's been posthumously idealized so much. I recall reading that the Spencers in general were such big snobs that they considered themselves more British than the royal family (referred to derisively as "the Germans" for their many intermarriages with German nobility) -- though I don't think any of that was attributed directly to Diana. Honestly, if I'm going to project any ill opinions on Diana, I could see her being jealous of her sons' wives (getting the attention of her sons and the press.) It'd likely be another situation where the press would gin up a self-fulfilling rivalry as they did between Di and Fergie (and, of course, between Kate and Meghan).

I guess I'm saying that the "if only she had lived" scenario wouldn't likely have played out to be all hearts and roses. Something better than a 12-year-old walking behind his mother's coffin, yes, but not without challenges.
