(1,654 posts)46. Yeah. I have a friend whose husband is in his 50's, had a serious stroke in his late 40s.
He's on disability. His wife has a good job but their quality of life would be really crappy if he didn't receive his disability. My ex-husband and his brother were able to finish college because of survivor benefits when his father died when my ex was still in his teens.
If Republicans had their way, SS would continue going fine for a while, the first or second revote to continue it would go smoothly. Then each one of the next ones would be harder and Dems would have to kiss a lot of Republican asses to get the bill passed (oh, so many little changes) and it would get harder and harder; it would be like the voting bills and the violence against women laws.
