That, friends is a win for Democrats and democracy.
Do the Debbie Downers posting here today not realize that what was predicted was a Republican landslide based on history and polling and what happened was the Democratic Party held its own and overperformed expectations, even Eeyore-like predictions from Democrats? Red wave, more like a red ripple.
Democrats won governor seats in three states formerly held by Republicans. We won the Pennsylvania senate seat after Fetterman was torn down by everyone, including his own party, for his debate performance. Maggie Hassan (NH), Michael Bennet (CO), and Patty Murray (WA) easily defeated their Republican challengers in races predicted to be close. and The House is still competitive. We will probably hold onto the Senate, which means President Biden can nominate federal judges and have them confirmed, including any vacancies in the Supreme Court (come on, arteriosclerosis). Even a slight win in the House by Republicans should chastise them and keep them from going nuts with conspiracy theory investigations. Any bullshit impeachment quests are probably off the table, thanks to these results.
AND it looks like Lauren Boebert will lose her seat.
Finally, Trump and his gallery of cretins lost BIGLY! And because they did, Trumplestiltskin will go "death con 3" on Desantis, tearing apart the Republican party during the next presidential primary. He will actively undermine Desantis and turn his crazy cult against him. Trump will announce his run within a week. He will make it his quest to destroy Desantis, who appears to be the right-wing nutty heir apparent based on his successes in Florida. Trump loves vendettas and is "screaming at everyone" after last night's election results. He needs to work on his nickname for Ron, though; DeSanctimonious has six syllables; his cult of morons, imbeciles, and lunatics can't pronounce that many in one word. Watching Trumplicans unleashed on Desantis in Florida is going to be delicious.
