That doesn't seem like enough to get them to do a 180 on Russia, so there may be more to it. Trump is a stochastic terrorist. They know he only has to vaguely allude to a threat to have one of his minions carry it out. So they are also worried about their safety, and their families'.

I too have floated the kompromat theory, since we know Russia hacked the RNC emails and sat on whatever they found. There could be more damning things that could come out, and if so, would provide Putin leverage over them. But I haven't seen any direct proof of this, just bizarre reversals like Graham after golfing with Trump.
