Given the recent revelations about phone calls [View all]

I thought it would be useful for people to know about the effort to investigate the hacking software used. The Pegasus Project is named after the phone hacking program known as Pegasus that was developed and spread by a security company in Israel named NSO. The project is an investigative effort by journalists and others. There has been a great deal of information coming out and it would appear that despite denials by the company and caveats in their contracts when they sold the service to various governments and groups that a good amount of nefarious conduct took place.

Here are 2 links to a bit more and if you dig deeper into more articles it gets worse and apparently people may be trying to "wash" responsibility by arranging to sell the company perhaps multiple times in short succession. Apparently the software can operate on a "no click" basis meaning you do not have to do anything in order for your phone to be compromised. I read one article indicating they can load it to your phone even from a transceiver that is just in the vicinity of the target phone. It is also on pads etc.
