(6,332 posts)18. They need to revisit the Establishment Clause
The framers were much closer in time to the religious wars of Europe (1517-1648) when Protestant and Catholic countries waged war on each other thinking their's was the one true faith. They knew well the Reformation when each side took turns burning "heretics" at the stake. That's why the Constitution has the Establishment Clause which gives us religious freedom without the Government picking one.
But there are people who are insecure and need their faith reaffirmed by having everyone else believe as they do, even if they have to impose it.

They understand the constitution lets a majority of justice decide cases however they want.
