(13,702 posts)and I understand the fear, but I think if they determine he's the best candidate and helps Harris win the Presidency (he's extraordinarily popular in purple state PA, and those electoral votes would go far), then we need to go all in and not allow the people who hold his jewish heritage against him lead the conversation. Now is the time for debate, and it may very well come to pass that his positions on Charter schools or world matters etc. may not coincide with the vision Harris has as the leader, but, I think when democrats say they don't want him bc of his Israel position (which is not really different than any other potential candidate), they should be challenged for that. Big time. Their issue is that they think he's a "zionist." But any of the candidates would fall into that descriptor if they want a two state solution. So why is his case different? Oh... he went to a Jewish school with Jake Tapper? (That was a big meme going around on Twitter today and it's discriminatory.)
