The off-duty cop/security guard thought he was going to be dragged and feared for his life, so he fired. If the woman had not tried to drive away with the cop hanging on to her car door, he "probably" wouldn't have fired his gun. Probably - but who knows? I just hope there is a fair investigation that gets to what really happened. She certainly didn't deserve to lose her life over some petty bullshit crime.

I'm not familiar with the other cases you mention but it definitely gives another reason not to shop at wal-mart (I don't).
