(3,496 posts)61. The Arrow of Time! (Or, "Bad reporters. Bad, Bad.")
I know, I know. This is ABC. It is, therefore, impeccable and unimpeachable.
But, gosh. Here is a paragraph from the ABC article linked in the OP:
Recently, however, the Harris-Walz campaign has announced a series of media interviews including appearances on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, ABC's "The View," CBS News' "60 Minutes," and the "Howard Stern Show" for Harris. Walz is set to do interviews on the "Smartless" podcast and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" this week.
So the reporters here use the term "has announced," which implies that the announced event hasn't happened yet. They also say "Walz is set," which is a clear, unambiguous statement that they are talking about something that has not yet happened.
Superfun fact: The date of the ABC article is October 10!!!
Oh.
Why is that a superfun fact?
Because every single one of those future engagements mentioned in the ABC article (pretty much labeled as "a feeble effort to catch up with the energetic and vital True President) had already happened when the article was published.
I'd submit that any reporters who can't figure out which direction time goes (earlier things happen before later things, gang!) might not be entirely trustworthy in their analysis.
Sure. They wrote a draft before the events happened. But if you're an actual professional, one of the things you do is fix that kind of stuff before you publish your article.
As for the rest of this blather, it's not new reporting. It's news analysis, bordering on straight op-ed.
And, as a DU sleuth has noted in another post in this thread, the numbers appear to be bogus.

Obama did more campaign events and he was a sitting president. He also had to deal with a hurricane disaster too.

True. I find that Harris strong ground game to be her camp saving grace.
