18. When President Carter dies....

I was thinking about this just the other day. Odds are that the next two former presidents to pass away will be Jimmy Carter and Donald Trump, likely in that order.

Carter is well loved by many, regardless of politics. I would imagine he will be honored with a lavish state funeral and many mourners paying their genuine respects.

Trump will likely croak not too long afterward. I think their funerals and mourning will be quite different. To begin with, a substantial portion of the country will be relieved to see Trump slither off to his dirt nap. I think there will be quite a contrast between the mourning and respect offered these two former presidents, and I think the relative closeness of their deaths will highlight the difference in how the nation regards them.
