And the skit here is literally an interview format.
If the airing was within a documentary, bona fide news interview, scheduled newscast, or an on-the-spot news event, the equal-time rule does not apply.

Cable versus Network stations. The FCC only has regulation authority over network stations, not cable.

The equal time rule is a separate rule and was not impacted by the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine.
