and end up existing merely for the sake of the organization, unless they believe that all beings are equal, while having different qualities and differing realizations.
Many people cannot grasp the idea of people being both equal and different. They treat different as unequal, the fundamental basis of hierarchies, cults, racism and conflict.
A spiritual leader seeking no privilege other than the happiness of all might say:
At the start I took a vow,
hoping to make all persons
equal to me, without any distinction between us.
