Any DUer's ever dealt with the 'Canadian Citizenship through Descent' process? [View all]

My maternal grandmother was born there, and remained a CA citizen her whole life (94 years), came to the US as a teenager and ended up with dual US/CA citizenship. My mother was born in the US and has not claimed CA citizenship, but she is still alive, has her birth certificate, and grandma's birth certificate. If I'm reading things right, if my mother were to claim her CA citizenship (which I'm trying to talk her into doing), I may then also be eligible to get it as the kid of a CA citizen.

Anyone here ever tried something like this (or know someone who has)? TIA friends

And I'm calling this a political topic (hence GD) because I want to GTFO because of Trump's insanity, esp. the last two days.
