(5,667 posts)54. Third this even as a gun owner and pro 2nd amendment person. You NEVER want to put yourself in a situation where
you have to even unholster your weapon, let alone shoot someone. It literally should be your last resort. You will probably face legal ramifications (get gun owners legal insurance) and very likely will have psychological trauma.
Much better to run away from a situation than stand your ground. Only unavoidable situations are an exceptions such as a home invasion where you are protecting your family (and even then if you can slip them out the back door safely DO SO).

Most gun shop owners/employees rightly assume a person coming into the store to buy a gun likes guns.
