1. I've been arguing against agencies for a long time

Corporations love them - they have just-in-time workers that they can pay crap wages to, with no worry about benefits or health insurance, that they can layoff with no repercussions. Meanwhile the agencies collect their 15-20% of an employee's wages, usually for no more work than maintaining a timesheet. You wonder why companies are so anxious to fire off their workers? Because they know that they can always get JIT contract workers for peanuts.

If you want to take down the unfair theft of wages, reforming and better regulating what agencies can do (and what companies can do with agency labour) would go a long way.
