My wife and I just moved to Panama about a month ago. We picked an isolated place and far from civilization, two miles from the beach.
I was working remotely as a contractor but I was let go yesterday as the tRump Administration has not paid my company for two months of work. I was expecting it and was ready. Still sucks but we will manage. I will applying for SS next year as I have enough passive income to be comfortable if we don't spend too much in stupid stuff. Now I can say I will retire at 61.
The Ex-Pat community here is a mix of tRump supporters (several) and tRump haters (many). We stay away from the "I get all news from Fox-news" people and from politics. It is amazing the ignorance of people all over. tRump is know here as El Pendejo.
BTW, eggs here in Panama are about $1.50 to $2.00 depending on the area and store. We are spending about $1500 a month for everything. Rent, food, gas, pets. We just got a puppy and the whole bill at the vet was less than $30.00. Another Ex-Pat was telling me that his trip to the local public hospital for an emergency appendectomy, to include the Ambulance ride was $105.00. He told us that his wife tried to get him to a private hospital but because of the pain and other issues the private doctor sent him to the public hospital. According to both, the care he received at the public hospital was at par or better than any place both had gone in the USA.
Just wanted to say hello from beautiful Panama.
