Since it was a law that applied to the manufacture and importation, it wouldn't have been like Joe Schmoe down the street got in trouble with the feds.

I do remember some overzealous cop trying to claim that some guy's magazine marked as 'LEO Only' (>10 rounds) was illegal *after* the ban expired, but that was more of a rolling of eyes news story.
