(32,139 posts)48. Well, IMO a large part of the problem
is that DU itself is now a corporate entity. In the past, spewing right-wing talking points on a consistent basis was grounds for tombstoning here. Of course the fact that the Democratic administration itself now backs many right-wing, corporate policies has made it difficult to continue to tombstone many right-wingers who can now protest that they are merely supporting the same policies as the President. However, it's pretty clear that even longterm disruptors who come here ONLY to defend right-wing garbage and attack progressives are tolerated now on the new, corporate DU, probably because controversy = clicks = profit.
