My wife works in an OB/GYN office and sees this shit all the time. It sucks because it throws off their entire schedule and forces her to work late with some regularity. This results in less time with the family and some late scrambling to care for the kids. Screw those selfish assholes who have zero clue (or desire for a clue) as to how their behavior impacts others.
