(7,986 posts)65. The end of that video is heartrending.
I haven't been watching the news all day so this is the first I've heard of this disaster.
I hope there are no fatalities, no serious injuries, but with devastation this severe it'll be a miracle if no one was seriously hurt.
The feelings of helplessness at the center of such an event can be so disheartening.
Please know that there are people tonight all across the country who have you in our thoughts. And we all of us should support getting people affected by such a disaster whatever help they need, where ever they live and whatever their politics.
Best wishes, and please let us know, when you have time and energy, how you and your friends and loved ones are doing.

OP
And outraged Mississippians, liberal and conservative, were the first to point it out.

First I heard, too. Isn't it an odd time of the year for tornadoes? Even in the south?

CNN is in Atlanta, it would seem they'd be more in touch with what's happening in that part

Without places like Hattiesburg, and Tuscaloosa last year, the South would be well and truly screwn

Hyper-partisanship dulls minds, hardens hearts, blinds eyes, kills empathy, and encourages amorality
