(69,014 posts)But I've seen the result of one mild tornado here in Queens and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
With climate change, disasters are going to be more frequent and more disastrous. If we don't stand together to save every one of us we can, America won't survive into the next century.
What is nationhood but a compact to help each other survive whatever evil befalls us?
We became a nation by forming communities, by reaching out to each other in time of need. We rallied to Paul Revere. We rushed supplies to still smoking Chicago. We drove all night to dig out the World Trade Center.
What happened over Sandy must never happen again.
We are Americans. That means we agree to stand together in time of trouble no matter what our disagreements about anything else.
