57. The absolute refusal to even think about evidence regarding their ideology

Modern Republicanism just bumper sticker ideology. Everything always boils down to a series of convenient assumptions. I've yet to hear a republican explain why any of their assumptions should ever be believed.

It is like there is always a step missing.
1. Tax cuts for the rich
2. ???????
3. Economic improvement

1. Fire government workers
2. ???????
3. Lower unemployment rate

It is even worse when looking at history

1. Democrats get control of the senate in 2006
2. ????????
3. Economic collapse blamed on Democrats
