Nobody really knows how much time we have between now and our death.
I knew a 42 old woman who died in her sleep one night, no explanation as to why. A number of my classmates died before the 30 year reunion, for various reasons.
And we all live with that possibility too, that we are living la-de-da and thinking "hey, I am 40 and gonna live another 30 years (at least)" or "I am 51 and gonna live another 30 years" but then suddenly find out we have cancer and do not live to see our next birthday.
It sucks, but in some ways it is also nice to have the six months notice. I mean, if I was gonna die tomorrow, which I could in a variety of ways - homicide, accident, attack from nature (flood, lightning, tornado, bobcat, rattlesnake, etc.) then it sure would have been nice to know that six months ago, or two years ago. Had I known, I could have quit my job and taken a trip to Ireland.
Anyway, I wish you well in whatever days you have remaining.
