(5,279 posts)I think you might be over reacting, while some of the posts were confrontational; I didn't see any threats, just speculations which disagreed with your speculations.
Armed conflicts are sometimes unavoidable. I really hate to say that, but it's the simple truth. It's also true that people fight for some very stupid reasons. Such as hundreds of years of war over who were real christians.
That being said, the threat of firearm confiscation was enough for us to start one war already. The American Revolution began when the British attempted to seize the armory in Concord Ma. And a large number of military members, veterans, and civilians identify with the common legends from the Revolutionary period. An actual attempt to seize firearms on a large scale, will most probably, be met with fierce resistance.
Not everyone who defends firearm ownership is a "gun nut", not everyone who advocates gun control wants to strip everyone of their guns.
