(13,352 posts)that's just ridiculous and really minimizes the points I made.
My OP was about the fact that the TEAM we are on doesn't matter in the long run or on the ground. Everyone is so fast to say "well good luck living under a republican pres"...but that's just choosing to run to the other extreme.
I have lived in poverty since 1992...I never felt the great economic boom of the clinton years, and ya, I guess I could say I felt the crunch under Bush but that just happened to coincide with the years I left my abusive husband and had to scrap to survive as well...I should have known it was not going to make a difference no matter how much Obama said such wonderful things when the banksters got bailed out and we got sold out...
Hey, I have always voted Dem and Green Party...I loved Clinton, Gore and Obama ...but the reality is that nobody is making these changes we need. I don't give a crap about your 'obstruction' excuses... if these things were truly important, shit would get done. Instead ALL of the bastards in DC (both parties) are merely Corporate puppets...the climate is gonna get worse faster than we thought, Gitmo will NEVER close, and the rest of us better shut up and toe the party line or else we will end up getting a visit from the guys in the black vans.
Nope, I am just voicing my disdain here because you all have always been good at discussion, and I know many of you understand the feelings I am having. many of you understand the exhaustion of hoping things will get better and watching as they continue to devolve....
I am done believing in anything bigger than myself. Activism is for the young who have not been jaded by LIFE.
My goal is to finish my school, try to find a job that will be better than $12/hr and take care of my kids the best I can.
The planet will continue to die, the corporations will continue to buy our elections, and all we can do is continue to survive amidst the crap as it rolls downhill...
