the two work hand in hand to produce the ultimate outcome, and this is pervasive across all levels of govt including elections, and with complicit corporate media. the fundamental role of the democratic party is to LOOK LIKE the good guys. once you understand that, you know everything you need to know about american politics.

I strongly recommend chris hedges "death of the liberal class" for an eye opening historical perspective.
