(36,063 posts)4. The circumstances that generates spying would seem to include
whenever one has a desire to know empirically something that isn't shared openly.
What makes spying acceptable seems to depend on the assessment that the activity of spying (seeking unshared information) is better than suffering the anxiety/risks that surround doing nothing while not knowing the unshared information.

Why do you need to ask? We have lots of laws that cover legitmate spying on enemies.
