-- and therefore, more electable -- to NON-hardline right wingers. It's the "moderate maverick" game as invented by John McCain, run by both George Bushes, and attempted by Mitt Romney. (What do you think that Hurricane Sandy drama was about?) The problem is, in order to suck up to the rightwing leadership, McCain and Mitt were forced to take on hardliner running mates -- and if Christie gets that far, so will he.
