(84,711 posts)over the world. There are few places anymore that aren't touched by all this angst we are going through. It's either our state governments have been taken over by ALEC or Koch Brothers Groups/Teabaggers/Crazies or they are working to undermine things nationally which affects us all. Then there is the climate change which puts the "unexpected" into our lives with crazy weather, food and environmental threats: Floods, Tornadoes, Heat Waves, Blizzards, Hurricanes, Death of Bees, Monsanto Agriculture...on and on.
I remember the early days of DU where we in Red States used to ask others where in the US or outside could one go to get away from this oppression. Back then there WERE states where progressives felt comfortable and our whole society didn't seem so "off the rails."
Maybe I've just become cynical...but I think anywhere one lives they are under attack as a Dem Progressive these days. And look at what a mess the rest of the world is in these days with Austerity and Protests and discord.
We just gotta live through these times until it gets better. That's the best I can think of to deal with it.
