When you collect enough information on whatever subject, a picture emerges. If the picture does not look right, if it seems distorted, or too bright, too neat and compact, either something is wrong with the information you have (spin, propaganda, lies), or the you don't have enough information for a clear picture yet - Or both.
The farther Right one goes in the political spectrum, the more apt one is to find lies and spin and misinformation.
