But you're right, this is not a chicken v. egg situation. Capital cannot exist unless, and until, labor creates it.

That does not mean, however, that capital cannot then be used to extract more production from labor through the use of technology and other efficiencies but labor is still the necessary spark to make the process begin.

Labor is therefore the most important part of the process. Unfortunately, it is also viewed by many with the most disdain.
