Of course having kids impacts your body. I've made three of them, and have seen the damage pregnancy causes.

I'm not talking about having well defined abs or a perfectly toned butt. Cardiovascular health is more about keeping your heart and lungs healthy, keeping your weight down, and keeping your blood pressure and cholesterol under control. People get too hung up on the visual aspect of health, but fitness has little to do with appearance.

And I know all about kids making it harder to find the time to exercise. Still, we're talking 30 minutes. The average person wastes more time than that in front of a TV every day. I personally keep my gym bag in my trunk and just stop off at my cheap $10 a month gym for 30 minutes on my way home from work. It's built into my daily schedule.

If you aren't getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a minimum of three times a week, with your heartrate at least 70% of its maximum level, you are undermining your own health and shortening your lifespan. That's not a matter of opinion, but is a simple medical fact. It may be hard to find the time, but the alternative is an early death. And how does that benefit your kids?
