(14,255 posts)when each school year started, and one or two outfits from Korvette's. Brother had juvenile diabetes, Dad's insurance from Sun Ship did not cover it, so we were always always broke. Plus any eggs, orange juice, etc. that we could afford went to my brother for his diet. ......fast forward to divorce, could not afford to heat Illinois house past 62 degrees in winter, son and I sat on registers with blankets to catch the heat. To this day, heated air makes me feel anxious or something, unable to breathe.
I had some great years, my jobs all went to India, I could live okay on my social security if I was not taking care of other family.
Always always voted Dem - my dad worked for the local committee and i remember seeing JFK give a stump speech in Chester, Pa - cold and windy and bright sunny day.
Stop flinging that broad brush around, it is divisive and does not really work, except to embolden those who want to cut safety nets.
