(3,995 posts)I can empathize. I was married forever to a man with borderline personality disorder, which sounds very similar to bipolar disorder. I considered staying with him for the sake of our child, but my life became unbearable and I left him (and changed my username to Sweet Freedom). Best decision I ever made for me and my daughter. You may want to talk to a therapist about your children. I did, and I am so grateful that I did. I was considering staying until my daughter went to college, but I learned the young don't remember and divorce can actually be harder for them the older they get. It sounds like your life is hell. I doubt you want your kids to grow up thinking this is normal. I just wish I knew then what I know now. I would have left sooner. I am happy and so is my daughter. You deserve to be happy!
