Harper Valley GOP

(to the tune of "Harper Valley PTA&quot

I want to tell you all a story 'bout an MP named George Galloway
Who was an outspoken critic of the GOPers in the USA
Well the GOPers didn't like it and they ordered him to testify
'Cause they thought he was a spineless wimp who'd just lay down and cry and die

Their note said, "Mr. Galloway, you've done some bad things with Iraq
You went and talked to Bad Saddam just before we started our attack
And we heard you got some money from some Saddam lovers a-way back when
And they gave you lots of oil despite all the sanctions 'gainst the man."

Well, it happened that the GOPers ponied up for his plane ticket to come
And they were firing up the barbecue to grill him and looking forward to the fun
And as he walked into the chamber, I still recall the words he had to speak
He said, "I'd like to address this meeting of the Harper Valley G.O.P."

" Well, there's Normie Coleman sittin' there a-passin' judgment over me
Based on some phony "evidence" concocted for this mockery
And if you want to point your finger at people who gave favors to Saddam
There's your Secretary of Defense who at one time was his biggest fan.

" Well, you claimed that there were weapons and we know that that was just a lie
And yet you started your illegal war and sent your soldiers over there to die
And if you want to preach to people 'bout the so-called "sanctity of life"
Then tell me why do Iraqis' deaths never seem to cause you any strife?"

And his eyes said, "Mr. Coleman I can see right through your little game.
Does the Gentleman from Minnesota not have a bleedin' ounce of shame?
And even for a lawyer, I can see that you have got no class
You just want to pontificate and cover up your sorry leader's ass"

Yes, Mr. Galloway's a fighter and he proved it quite decidedly
The day the MP socked it to the Harper Valley G.O.P.
