Have been successful at it, mostly.
And it was my tough old man that drilled it into me.
But then i watched as he negated that line repeatedly. I think it was society that made him turn away and act mean. We even see that sort of pressure on DU.

Right, but if women were "in charge," would gentleness still be seen as a feminine value?

Scandinavia has also had a history of women staying at home for months while most men were gone.
