I was reading an editorial in my community newspaper (it's election season and they were profiling the candidates ... I usually just read the "Police Beat" column and the entertainment section, because I live in crazy country and the LTEs usually start with a criticism of that "Socialist Muslim in office ..."

Well, the paper's editorial writer is a prime example of what is wrong ... the editorial was titled "Let's pay for performance" ... in the first paragraph, she takes Congress to task for taking a vacation "without making progress on some of the nation's pressing issues - again."

Then, she states "Congress as a whole is broken, America's executive branch is dysfunctional and we Americans are forced to do nothing more than watch, and react as if we are watching some kind of reality show."

Then, the rest of the piece points out that every matter that President Obama has attempted to address through legislation or executive action has been fought by the gop ... but it's all President Obama's fault ... because ... well ... it's both parties.

I think you're giving people too much credit. HooptieWagon Jul 2014 #1
