(10,252 posts)This is the height of arrogance. Were these people raised in a family of sociopaths? As a Buddhist, this is an opportunity to teach about the virtue of equanimity, which is seeing all people as equal. Equal in our suffering, because everyone has troubles and problems and misfortunes and disappointments and mistreatment and difficulties. Everyone, not just some, but everyone.
Everyone is equal in simply wanting to be happy and live a good life with a healthy body within a loving family in a society that is fair and offers opportunities for growth and improvement. Everyone, not just some, everyone.
What went wrong in the education of these people that they haven't incorporated these understandings about how we are all equal and want the same things? *That's a rhetorical question.* Seeing others from the viewpoint of equanimity takes practice. So yes, I hope someone publicly outs these people, so we can show our children and grandchildren (and everyone else for that matter) that arrogant, condescending behavior is not acceptable.
