5. Pentagon announced Friday the details for 1,300 of those troops - 'at least three years"

Roughly 1,000 soldiers will be from the Army 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina while 300 soldiers will be deployed from other various branches of the armed services. The 300 assorted armed service members will assist in counterintelligence, logistics and communication according to Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby.

The 82nd are expecting to be deployed for at least nine months.

The soldiers will likely be stationed at four separate locations throughout the country.

Additionally, on Thursday of this week, Lt. Gen. James Terry, the commander of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, spoke with reporters saying that other coalition nations are expected to contribute at least another 1,500 troops to the region. Terry also stated that he expects this on-going campaign will take at least three year to complete.
