(99,708 posts)Eighty three percent of Americans identify themselves as Christians yet same sex marriage is legal in thirty six states and hopefully by the end of the year will be legal in all fifty, abortion is legal in all fifty states, and the separation of church state still endures.
And Christians oppose stoning for adultery. It's expressly prohibited. It was settled two thousand years ago.
Making up shit about Christians isn't going to solve the problem that many Muslims hold antediluvian views
France, England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Mexico...are all nations with Christian majorities or pluralities and the rights of gays and women are largely protected.
There's polling data out there. The majority of lay Catholics in the U S favor some abortion rights and same sex marriage. I suspect the numbers are roughly the same for main stream Christian denominations.
