(47,953 posts)The cumulative effects of years of constant RW propaganda from all 'news' has a strong effect. There have been books written about this, how people who were solid liberal or apolitical types became t-bagger nut jobs after being in a position to be subjected to hate radio and cable tv 'news' for a few years. IMO, this bias extends into other areas like sports radio, where people like Colin Cowherd drop little bits of RW crap into their sports commentaries all the time.
Do not kid yourself into thinking that political views stay constant after a certain age. I saw this for myself, with an Uncle who was a good Union state employee turning into a mindless RW slogan spewer who regularly donated to the repubs and who voted for folks who would have cut his pension and healthcare to nothing if they could have gotten away with it.
