(35,961 posts)That's a whole lot more than others are doing. They're kinda too busy talking about Manny to mention the TPP, let alone talk about it.
Me, I don't like the secrecy around the TPP. There's real concerns over here that the pharmaceutical bit will damage our PBS (that's our subsidised prescription medicine) and blur the lines between public and private health systems. There's also the sugar and wheat farmers who suspect they'll be left out of any agreement because the US refuses to let them into the US market. And with the RW govt we've got here, no-one trusts the govt when they say 'trust me! this will be good for you!'. I also don't like this stuff I'm seeing about it being motivated by shutting China out. China's one of our biggest trading partners. While we trade with the US, it's not in any big way, so I'm not seeing how this will be good for Australia.
