60. Once The Bomb was developed its use was inevitable.

That's the way bureaucracies, especially governmental and military ones, work, And the debate as to whether more civilians would have been killed in an all-out invasion of the Japanese islands or by use of the atomic bomb is unresolvable

Curtis LeMay's firebombing of Tokyo killed more civilians than did the Nagasaki bomb. Modern war is always horrible.
