(29,322 posts)I'm not talking about anything proposed to the House or Senate (except for his poor negotiation skills which has further moved the middle ground far to the right) but strictly things he has in control over -- including expanding executive branch powers setting dangerous precedents. Don't know what the issue was behind the change from Candidate Obama or First 100 days Obama to the moderate Republican or more like the Bill Nelson wing of the Democratic Party but the easy targets are the people who choose to surround himself around.
Me personally my conscience would be crushing me pursuing the things he has, continuing the things he has, and push the things he has.
I will say I miss Candidate Obama or First 100 days Obama but after that we can and should do better. The world depends on it -- I don't know how to solve it. The biggest problem is the other party that is openly selling out the people for business & operating with a full bag of dirty tricks but I do know it helps to tell the truth about him. I don't mean the political grandstanding stuff, I mean what it is exactly they're saying or pushing & the reason behind it. More than that he's lead Bush-era Democrats into supporters of Bush-era policies. He has given them credibility for what I consider to be some pretty extreme policies.
Looking forward not backward would have been different if he cleaned the slate but instead he looked backward to challenge Bagram detainees from using Habeaes Corpus to challenge their detention which was the beginning of the end of candidate Obama. It was 1 week after he released the torture memos. Personally, I see the world becoming a much crueler place even more than it is right now. I have love for the people though and if government is putting business over the people then of course I support the people over the government in question.
