(70,671 posts)What I've said is that I learned from the Bill experience that his type of leader is somebody who gets distracted by his own problems, that he -- AND WE-- have to expend all of our energies in defending *him* instead of using our precious time in power focused on our Democratic agenda. It's fine, whenever we win even if it's a Bill scenario, but in that case the most we can hope for, aside from maintaining with the Defensive game, is the power of nominating thousands of policy bureaucrats down the line and a few judges.
The biggest thing I appreciate about OBAMA is that he has kept away from all the personal baggage stuff and stayed focused even in the face of such extreme obstructionism. And the quote says it totally:
"Im proud that DEMOCRATS are focused on change that matters... the kind of change that will make an impact on peoples lives for decades to come.
